The Help

Inspired by the 17th-century icon known as The Harrowing of Hell (or The Descent into Hades), this painting reimagines a timeless moment of divine grace. In the original icon, Christ descends into the darkness to extend His hand to Adam and Eve, offering liberation and hope beyond despair.

In my abstract interpretation, I explore the hidden moments in our lives when everything feels lost—those deep, dark nights of the soul. And yet, when we look back, we realize that help was always there. A hand was always reaching toward us. Whether you call it God, the Universe, the Goddess, or simply grace—it is the presence that lifts us when we fall.

Help is a visual prayer, a reminder that in every moment of struggle, support is only a breath, a whisper, a cry away. All we need to do is ask.
